The Path Forward Fund
As spring unfurls across the Presumpscot River watershed, trails emerge from their winter quiet, ready to welcome hikers, bikers, birdwatchers, and families seeking the simple joy of a walk in the woods. The spring season of renewal reminds us that caring for special places isn’t just about conservation—it’s about tending to what we love, together.
The Presumpscot Regional Land Trust stewards over 3,000 acres of conserved land and almost 40 miles of trails that weave through forests, wetlands, and riverbanks. These lands don’t take care of themselves. They require dedicated maintenance—boardwalks to repair, trailheads to refresh, bridges to rebuild after winter storms, and invasive species to manage. Every step on a well-maintained trail, every scenic overlook cleared of debris, every thriving ecosystem is the result of careful, continuous investment in our shared natural heritage.
Join us in investing in ourselves—our community, our trails, our future. A gift to the Path Forward Fund ensures that these lands remain accessible, safe, and vibrant for generations to come. Whether you walk these trails daily or visit on a special weekend, your support makes an immediate impact
With your support, the Path Forward Fund will:
Repair boardwalks, bridges, and eroded trail sections
Replace broken trail signs and install new markers for safety
Remove invasive species and improve habitat along our trail corridors
Make trails more accessible for people of all ages and abilities
This dedicated fund exists to care for the trails we already love. The quiet ones. The muddy ones. The ones that carried us through hard seasons and joyful moments. And now, they need us to carry them forward. It’s all about stewardship — and about ensuring that future generations can step onto these trails and feel the same sense of welcome and wonder that you’ve felt.
